Join us for the 2024 season opening of the Sydney Cantata Project! This concert showcases two seldom-performed cantatas by J.S. Bach: "Er rufet seinen Schafen mit Namen" (He Calls His Sheep by Name), BWV 175, and "Gleichwie der Regen und Schnee vom Himmel fällt" (Just as the Rain and Snow Fall from Heaven), BWV 18. These two cantata feature the recorder, with three recorders appearing in BWV 175 and two in BWV 18, which is also unusually scored for 4 violas, recorders and continuo! 

Highlighting the talents of some of Australia's finest period instrument specialists and soloists, this event offers a thrilling chance to experience the beauty of rarely heard, sublime music.
